It is more than a pure maths puzzle. Trial and error is needed to win but not needed to realize the truth.

A minimalist brain teaser puzzle made for GMTK Game Jam 2024 (inspired by scale game in Devil's Plan).

Use a (weird?) scale to find the weights of 5 blocks.

The results of the newest 10 trials are shown on the left. Still, you are strongly advised to get a paper and a pen to record the results and do simple arithmetic.

How to Play:

(Touchscreen supported, no keyboard needed)

• Click to select the block.
• Click on the scale to place the block.
• (Click the block on the scale will put it back.)
• (Click two blocks to swap their places.)
• After putting at least 3 blocks on the scale, "Judge" will be enabled.
• Click "Judge" to see which side will the scale tip.
• Click "Retry" to repeat the process above.
• Click the question mark / number below the block to place your guess.
  
• Click "Eureka!" if you have placed all your guesses and are confident to submit your final answer.

Keep in mind that knowing the truth cannot be reversed

The scale tips when the total moment (moment = weight x distance) of that side is larger. To be precise, weight of the middle blocks will be doubled and that of the farthest blocks will be tripled.
